John Simpson aboard his T3 Racing Triumph, took two Fuchs-Silkolene Supersport Cup wins, at round six of the Championship at Snetterton 300 in Norfolk.
Simpson qualified in second place in the Supersport Cup and the first race out he got away well slotting straight into second place. He soon pulled in the leader and took charge of the Cup race gapping his rivals.

The second race of the weekend wasn’t just so straight forward for Simpson who found himself further down the order than anticipated. He had to work his way through the throng gradually picking off the other Cup riders. By lap nine he was in first place in the Cup and 14th in the overall Supersport race.

Simpson said: “Race one was good, I got the win. We’ve been working hard on the suspension and it is paying off. I’m not keen on the new track thought, it doesn’t suit my style I prefer flowing circuits. The second race I struggled to carry my corner speed as there were so many people around me. Once it spread out a bit I was able to get into my rhythm and pick them off. Two wins is what I wanted and I’m now 36 points clear in the title chase so I’m happy with that.” Meanwhile Simpson’s team-mate Jimmy Dye, who is competing in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship, had a weekend to forget.

He missed first qualifying due to a technical problem and was playing catch up for the rest of the weekend. Having missed out on valuable track time he went out in second qualifying and finished in 31st position.
The race was eventful with Dye crashing out early on at Montreal hairpin, however the race was red flagged and he was allowed to re-start. The re-start only ran over three laps and Dye finished in 32nd place.
Dye said: “It has just been one of those weekends. I did improve my lap time by 2.5secs in second qualifying so that was a good. As for the race, there was something on the track and I just went down. I’ll just put it behind me and look forward to Oulton instead.” The seventh round of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship and the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship will take place on 15th-17th July at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
