Zanotti runs in World Superbike
11th April 2007

Scorpion sponsored rider Aaron Zanotti entered the World Superbike series as a wildcard rider on Sunday 1st April at Donnington.

This was Aaron's first time in the WSB and he fared well over the whole weekend. The weekend started off really well with Aaron setting some impressive laptimes in free practise.

Saturday was a good dry day with Aaron again posting some good times, even equalling his previous days best time.

Sunday morning was however not as good as Aaron could have hoped for. The Sunday morning practise ended in disaster for on the 6th lap the front tyre let go. Even though he was travellin at around 136mph Aaron managed to walk away without a scratch!!!!. All was looking lost for Aaron's chance of racing but thanks to some awesome work by the team the bike was race worthy with a full 20 minutes to spare.

The early stages of the race went well with Aaron making up some ground after starting 19th. As the race wore on though tyre wear became an issue and laptimes got slower as a result Aaron finished the race in 18th place.

Race 2 was a better affair, with the tyre performing better Aaron was able to finish a respectable 16th place.

Congratulations to Aaron and the team for a job well done hopefully there will be more WSB opportunities in the future.
